Graduate in Business Studies from Barcelona’s Autónoma University. PhD in Finance from Purdue University in Indiana (USA) under the Fulbright Scholar Program.

Professor of Finance and Accounting at Madrid’s Autónoma University (UAM). Founded Analistas Financieros Internacionales in 1987.

Member, in representation of Spain, of the Securities and Markets Stakeholders Group, a consultative working group of the European Securities Markets Authority (ESMA), between May 2011 and March 2016.

Member, in representation of Spain, of the Banking Stakeholders Group of the European Banking Authority (EBA) between April 2016 and June 2020.
Member of the Technical Committee of the IBEX stock index between 1990 and 1997.

Ángel Berges was the first Spaniard to preside the European Finance Association.
Author of several books and numerous articles for Spanish and international journals.
